## Understanding models roles and configuring settings.py file

As I said earlier, this is my own approach and you can always build your own.

In this example I am going to build **Four Models** , In this tutorial I will explain the reason for it, but befor that I hape you have created a Stripe accound and have enabled the Test Mode and you can see your test - public and private key.

### Configuring settings.py file  

Create three variable in your settings.py file and  fill it with the values
- STRIPE_PUBLIC_KEY  = your stripe public key
- STRIPE_SECRET_KEY = your stripe private/secret key
- STRIPE_WEBHOOK_KEY = leave this as **blank for now**, we will see this when we deal with webhook in later blogs of this topic.

### Understanding models detail

- **First model** - this describes the product and the price, you can always set it according to your needs and application data flow. We will look the details below.
- **Second Model** - we will use this model to create new instance  as soon as a payment request comes from React side and then we will create the stripe payment session. This may be used later just to verify in our database whether a user started a payment flow or not, in case if something happens in between payment process. We will look the detail below.
- **Third Modal** - We will use this model to create an instance as soon as we recieve a success notification in our React app from stripe. This will be helful for us to check if a payment was successfull or not. We will see the details below. This can be considered as - the payment is success but we have not recieved a webhook notification.
- **Fourth Model** - We will use this model to  create new instances when we recieve a Webhook notification of our successfull payment process. After this we can give users permission to the app, this means the payment is successfull, the purchase process successfully finished.

** We can have a look at our database and with the help of these three models (2nd, 3rd & 4Th ) we can track the status of payment, also if something unusual happens in between the payment process we can always manually verify the stripe history and our own database to  see the progress and status.

#### Let us build our models -


**Design the product model, lets call it  ProductDetail :**

For example, lets build a simple product detail model 

```
class ProductDetail(models.Model):
    product_name = 
    price = 

    def __str__(self):
        return str(self.id)
```
**Design our second model, lets call it OrderBeforConfirmation :**

```
class OrderBeforConfirmation(models.Model):
    product = models.ForeignKey(ProductDetail)
    buyer = models.ForeignKey(User)
    created_on = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True)
    
    def __str__(self):
        return str(self.id)
```

**Design our third model, lets call it OrderAfterConfirmation :**

```
class OrderAfterConfirmation(models.Model):
    order = models.OneToOneField(OrderBeforConfirmation)
    created_on = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True)
    
    def __str__(self):
        return str(self.id)
```
**Design our fourth model, lets call it OrderAfterWebhooksConfirmation :**

```
class OrderAfterWebhooksConfirmation(models.Model):
    order = models.OneToOneField(OrderBeforConfirmation)
    created_on = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True)

    def __str__(self):
        return str(self.id)
```

Do note that I have created models in the simplest possible way just to show here as examples.

In next part of this topic, I will discuss about sending a payment request from React and creating views in django and extending the save method to create stripe payment session and also to update models data as per our requirements.
